2020 R1250RT Repair Manual DVD

I just called Max BMW to order a repair manual dvd for my newly acquired 2020 R1250RT. MaxBMW said they weren't available yet for the 2019 or 2020 R1250RT.

I find that hard to believe.

Has anyone been able to purchase one, or are they truly not available?

Thanks.

.

When the 2016 R1200RS was introduced it was a long time before the BMW Repair Manual DVD was available.

I bought one online for my '19 1250 RT, from Max online! Go to the website and search for parts; it should be listed.

Try part number 01591540216

I got one for my 2019 RT last year from my local dealer here in Texas. Could be the person you talked to just did not know.

When I saw 2020 RT I was thinking the new RT, but that's 2021.
I don't know what year it is :) Maybe the person at MAX did the same thing.

I don't know if BMW will have a new DVD for 2021 or if the previous DVD will update to show the new features.

I have always found manuals for new models, a year behind of the actual vehicle delivery(s). If there were no real changes between the years, the DVD/repair manual from a previous year will be fine.

And if you encounter a real puzzler because the later bike does not match the manual, you get to figure it out yourself, or you can call your favorite dealer tech for some advice. Having such a person on speed dial is a great thing to have.

I’ll have to double check but I believe I bought one for my 2020 1250r from max, I can deal with the plastics and the important bits are the same between the R and RT

If you want a DVD repair manual, I think I can tell you what NOT to do: Don't place an order with Sierra BMW. I purchased a DVD repair manual for the R1250RT from their website on June 26th. I waited 3 weeks, and then tried to make contact with them. They don't answer their phone. They don't return voicemail. They don't respond to emails. They don't deliver the product.

At this point I am pretty sure that their company motto of "We specialize in CUSTOMER SERVICE" is actually a joke. I will order it somewhere else; I just want my money back.

I ordered a manual from Sierra on 7/10. My research showed that the manuals are not available so I called them on 7/13, they confirmed that the manuals are not available and cancelled my order. I had no problem contacting them.

So about 3 weeks ago I ordered a repair manual dvd for my 2020 R1250RT from Max BMW's online parts on their website.

Today I get an email notifying me that they cancelled the order and issued a refund because the repair manual dvd's are no longer available from BMW. What are we supposed to do?
