R1150GS Fiberglass Front Fender VS: Stock Fender

So last week I was cruising along at about 50mph and I ran into a telephone line that had been knocked down in a recent storm. The wire caught the bike between the headlight and the lower fender and as I slowed down expecting to get snagged or jerked to one side, it slid across the forks and the the top of front fender and fortunately did not snag on anything. It did crack my front fender hence my question about a replacement option. Wunderlich makes a nice fiberglass fender that comes primed and will need a final coat of paint for about $150 or I could just replace it with the original plastic flexible type for about $90.
Has anyone had any experience with this fiberglass fender regarding durability or fitment? Thanks!
