Just home from the MOA rally. It’s the sweet spot between the F700GS and the R1200GS. Has all the same electrics as my 1200 and cruise. More power then my F7 with better sound. Much lighter feel than the R12. Does very well on dirt roads, went over two mountain passes this trip. For me a much better fit and a win win. It’s a keeper 95DFFE62-D619-47B9-8958-A74E65C7E96B.jpg1398E5F5-1562-47F0-AA2A-3D33549AB501.jpg7DEBE7DA-53FA-4EC6-A376-7367A04AB0E5.jpg20B56E6E-84A9-4B86-9CBB-2A1235ECE14A.jpg24517810-52F1-48E0-A136-8BBAD1088706.jpgA0A7EBAD-3849-4619-BEBD-09FF7912EACE.jpg CECBB341-D9E6-4BB2-8DC5-93ED9D51BD2C.jpg

How about a list of mods and what you do and don't like about each of them? Just getting going on "personalizing" my 40th Anniversary 850GS and am interested in what others have done to their F750/850GSes.

I might be tempted to switch from my R1200GS LC to one of these. I'm not getting any younger and picking up the R12GS is becoming more of a challenge.

Your bike is only 30 pounds more than a F750GS and when a R1200 falls over, most of the time it doesn't lay flat like a parallel twin.
If you drop a R1200 off road it may go wheels up but when it takes a parking lot nap it probably lays at a 45 because the jugs hold it up.

Maybe I'll get crash bars for my R12GS :D

I did think the weight difference would be a lot more than that; thanks.

There's a bigger difference if you compare the R1250GS to the F750GS. That's 56 pounds.
Weight difference between a R1250GS and F850GS is 45 pounds.

I just made the switch from a 1200GSW to an 850GS and the difference in very noticeable. I'm not getting any younger, and the 1200 was starting to field unwieldy in tight situations. The 850 is much easier to maneuver around at 0 mph and much more nimble at all speeds above that. The 850 is not as refined a package as the 1200, but I'm happy so far with the change. I haven't dropped the 850 yet to tell you how it is to pick up, however.

The F750GS is a very sweet bike. Handling especially. The weight difference seems like a lot more than 30 lbs when I have compared my two, and it's much easier to roll around, etc.
