    I don't remember which thread.
I asked and another member said near 5,000.
That was close enough for me. I trusted his answer and did not ask him to prove it.

I'm not sure the ExpoPark could take more people. I think every single patch of grass had a tent on it. People were sleeping in tents on medians in the parking lot. it was impressive how many people were there. Whatever the number, it was "capacity" or felt like it to my eyes. I spent some time with the safety volunteers on Thursday and they were scrambling to find spots for people to pitch tents and park their bikes.

I wanted to throw up my drone but it was too close to the airport to be allowed. ...well I could have done it but I'm not sure I would want to face the consequences.

Ted (Moyer) also told me that about 2500 of the attendees were "carryovers" who had originally registered for the 2020 rally and let their entry fee carry forward to the 2021 rally. About 500 or so 2020 registrants asked for a 2020 refund when the 2020 rally was canceled, and Ted didn't have a feel for how many -- if any -- of the 500 2020 cancellations re-registered as new 2021 registrations. Still, I agree with Adam, it was a great attendance! The tent camping areas were filled to near overflowing (I'm glad I had a hotel room!), the temperatures were near perfect, and the rains were very well behaved. I would have liked to have had the opportunity to peruse the offerings from more vendors, the vendors who did make the trip to GF were certainly busy answering questions and selling lots of "stuff".

BTW, I'm not complaining about the vendor selection. As someone who has hosted many, many bicycle rallies (including one scheduled for October 2021), I know how hard it is to put all the pieces together to pull of a major event. With the restrictions caused by the pandemic, I was amazed there were as many vendors @ GF as did show!

Thatís still a good number. It was one of the best for me. I will keep it in my memories for a long time to come. Thanks to all that helped, volunteered and put this on. I myself helped out two time in the MOA store. I had a very good time and wonderful riding to and from the rally. The last 100 miles was in down poor rain and I loved it all. Thanks for all the replyís.

Westerners, used to riding long distances across the empty quarter often ride east. Easterners used to riding in less empty spaces often refuse to ride west. It is a pattern seen since the Loretta Linn rally.
