    whistle noise on 05 R1200ST

    anoying whistle
    parabellum windshied seems okay...

Theres a whistle sound now at between 60-70mph sometimes even at 50ish, think its the same faint whistle that can be heard at idle. Thought it was a wind diversion from the taller windshied but swapped out the shield for the stock one but the whistle was still there. Had the brake fluid flushed recently too but don't think that has anything to do with the whistle.. Any ideas, should I stop ridding for now?

Back in the day when front axles still had holes for inserting a rod or screwdriver to extract the axle, having those holes positioned “just so” could induce a whistling sound. I would suggest two things: check for a loose or cracked vacuum hose from throttle bodies or leading to the solenoid for the emissions cannister, and look for a missing screw/open hole on any bodywork that was removed for the brake flush.

    whistle

Thanks for your input, had a machanic evaluate the sound last night, saying the whistle is not coming from anything machanical. So to find where the thing is whistling.
