    Dipstick Poll : R75/5

Do you measure oil fill on your R75/5 with the dipstick screwed all the way in or resting on top of threads?

Resting on top of the threads, NOT screwed in. Check this page from Snowbum's site:

    https://bmwmotorcycletech.info/Slash...ers-manual.pdf

Go to digital page 14, paper page 15. Last sentence under Engine Lubrication.

Most Definitely resting on top. And centered so it's resting evenly.

Resting on top, as per manual (with crush washer or O-ring roughly aligned under cap).

Since the "gasket ring" (as the parts list calls it) has an inside diameter larger than the outside diameter of the dipstick's threads, it moves freely, and is not really a part of this measurement.
