    Restoring Krauser Bag Color?

Hi has anyone found a way to restore the older Krauser bag color back to black? Mine are grayish...
I tried Forever Black on a spot and it didn't really take.

    Thanks Chuck

I had good luck with Mother's brand "Back to Black."

I have found most of the popular chemical solutions work temporarily but need to be refreshed often to maintain a dark black colour. An application with a heat ‘gun’ has worked well for me on multiple bikes. I learned this from one of the older gurus over at airheads.org. The key is to be very careful and not overheat. As heat is applied the grey turns to shiny black. It takes patience and care but is worth the effort as it can be a multi year solution. It is imperative that the application of heat is done carefully. A hair dryer does not work as it just does not get hot enough.

Very welcome. 50+ years of riding and it was new to me too. An occasional touch up with the chemical of your choice and they will stay nice and black.
