Nav VI w/ Cardo PackTalk Bold w/ iPhone XS w/ 2013 R1200RT (Camhead)
Hello All,
I've done my best at reading through this extensive thread, as well as the Cardo & BMW/Garmin manuals, but admit I would fail a quiz on the subject! A casualty of the aging process perhaps...
In any event, I wonder if someone can jump in a quickly describe to me the proper sequence of pairing I need to perform, to get my GPS, Headset, and iPhone to all play well with each other - on my particular bike. I do have the wonder wheel, but - as many of you no doubt know - in 2013 its only function was controlling the OEM Sound System.
Here's what I'm hoping I can achieve:
1. Cardo is able to provide turn by turn from GPS.
2. Cardo is able to accept "Hey Cardo" commands (20 are built in).
3. Cardo is able to accept "Hey Siri" commands to iPhone.
4. Cardo is able to communicate with passenger (Wife has PackTalk Bold headset too).
5. Cardo is able to participate in Mesh network of other riders in my group - so both I and passenger can communicate with group.
6. Cardo is able to play music from iPhone (I do not want or need it to play music from GPS)
7. Cardo is able to use iPhone for phone calls (incoming and outgoing).
Thanks!
Rocky Hayes
SImple guy here, just want navigation
I pick up a 2017 wethead RT at the end of the month.
This all seems overly complicated for me. I just want to ride, and don't want all the expense, pairing hassles or intrusion. I don't need music in my helmet, or voice commands, or have a need for rider to rider comms, as I ride solo. But I would prefer a standalone GPS. Is it worthwhile to get the Nav VI just to use as a visual navigation device? Or should I skip it and use my phone and Google Maps? That would not be my first preference but it's an option.
I'm being serious here, haha. Maybe I should stick to paper maps..
