Good job Leo and Tom. Looks like it’s time for engine install. Another big step.

It’s a thing of beauty.

Looks good from all angles.
Leo, what is the best or superior feature of the the Commando engine compared to the other Brit brands of this era? That would be the superior head design. The head is where power and torque is made. Yep, I thought that might be your answer. Good combustion, and getting air flow into and outa the head efficiently is the key.

Leo and Tom working on a derelict Triumph. That’s another story. Tom says Barry come over and check out my new Honda. OK, let’s see it.
Tom lives next door, so a short walk over to his garage.

Hey Barry....this is a BMW Forum!😳
Why didn’t you take some pictures of Tom’s BMW’s!!!
😂😂😂😎😎😎👍👍
I guess you’re gonna have to document me working on some BMW’s to keep this thread legitimate!!😂😂😂🏍🏍🏍
I’m so ashamed of myself. Yes, when I got home and saw that I had only taken pics of the Honda, I realized I needed to take some pics of Tom’s BMW’s. I have completely failed as a BMW journalist and photographer. On my return visit, I plan to correct this shortcoming. Please don’t tell anyone about this; our little secret. This is on the down low.:brow
While mopin’ about the house about my photojournalist shortcomings; found this postcard dated 7-20-99.

Back in ‘98, I rode out to Missoula, Montana and attended the MOA National. My buddy from Hot Springs, Ar. won the big grand prize. Can’t remember what all it included, but it was a travel and tour package that was pretty all inclusive. Greg Parish and his wife Lisa toured Europe, the Mediterranean Sea, the Middle East by BMW motorcycle and automobile.
