Why the mystery locations of rallies

While I understand the need to keep the EXACT location quiet of future rallies:

It was explained to me MOA gets better leverage on negotiations of hotels, etc.

What I DON'T understand is why the state or region is kept so hush-hush???

Why would it be bad to say the location will be held in the midwest or the south?

Can someone enlighten me on this?:dunno

Because then it gives people 2 years to whine and complain that the rally is never in their neck of the woods.

;-)

I suspect that the real reason is that the national has gotten so big that even giving the state or a region might still give it away. There was another thread here that indicated that a large percentage of the last 15 rally sites would no longer qualify because they're not big enough. There might only be a couple of locations in Washington state, for example that have enough motel rooms, restaurants and a big enough place to camp, within a reasonable locus.
