Please, riders........bring those gorgeous old airheads to Sipapu. I just love to check them out, and I just can't get truly excited about the new stuff. I promise to have 2 prime examples from '76-'78 (IMHO, the sweet spot), and will discuss their merits, and shortcomings for as long as you'd like.

Might even bring a "Belgian Police Special," and it's lineage is STILL in dispute (1 of 100?).

Weather can be sketchy (thus, this wimp won't camp) but, otherwise, about the best (and one of the oldest) m/c gatherings you will attend. And yes, I have been to the Slimy Crud Motorcycle run in Wisconsin!

We live in Dixon, only a short ride away.
See Yah There!

Except for one year when work sent me to Germany, I've been to all of them.

Thing to know about this rally is that it's a lot about the riding, which is fabulous in the area. Nice big circle is ride east to Mora, then north on NM 434 to Angel Fire, on to Red River, then Questa, Taos, and back. A wonderful Viet Nam memorial at Angel Fire and of course incredible history and some shopping in Taos.

I read the new biography (http://cherieburns.com/) myself, but wives, etc., might especially like reading about Millicent Rogers, Standard Oil heiress, married to a couple Euro princes, US gov't intelligence in WW2, dated Ian Fleming, Roald Dahl, and Clark Gable, model for Vogue, lived out later years in Taos as arts patron, still considered a great beauty and fashion trend setter. Historical things to see related to her in Taos. This would only be scratching the surface at Taos, of course.

I think the hippie woman from Taos with the sidecar missed last year, but we hope she makes it back this year. Maybe eclectic is a better descriptor, as she's wonderful and deserves no sort of put down from anyone.

Excellent! Wayne, Voni, Britt,......and the tip for the bio w- local flavor,.....all good.

Wayne and Voni, - can't wait to see you two again (and Paul and Sharon)). Britt,......VERY nice original blue R100,....to see your wife behind those handlebars will be a treat indeed.

Lets all get the word out,......and gather those old beauties. No ABS, no power brakes, no Telelever, no heated seats, no gas gauges, no trip computer,......and tubes in them there tires. Just pure old school basic riding.

No if we can just get a break again on that weather (-:

Sorry to disappoint you William, but I will be bringing one of those ABS, traction control, trip computer equipped bikes. We had trouble keeping up with you and your R90S last year, so I have been practicing my skills at ignoring the speed limiter (Sharon) on the back seat. Looking forward to another great time in New Mexico and seeing everyone again.
