Day parking - on grass?

I looked at the location for day parking at the rally. It looks like a grassy area. Should I pack a platform to put the side stand on?

Yes. I always carry a cover plate for an electrical junction box in the pocket of my riding jacket. As I recall they are $1 @ Lowe's. You never know how firm the grassy spot will be. Also, on fresh blacktop, it will keep the side stand foot from leaving a mark.

I always carry a puck on a string in the tank bag for parking on dirt or hot asphalt. I loop the string over my handlebar so I can easily retrieve the puck when departing.

Easy stuff.

Correct, day parking will be mostly on grass. The suggestions above are good ones. I would come prepared!
