'82 R100RS Hi-comp pistons

Question for the assembled multitude...

I'm thinking of installing higher compression pistons in this bike. Looking for more mid-range. Worked really well on a 900 Ducati I once had.

So, should I or should I not? If you say yes, a recommendation on the ratio would be appreciated keeping in mind I have no desire to start using any fuel additives or octane boosters. Also, a piston supplier name would be nice.

Thanks in advance for your help!

You really have only one choice and that's the stock 9.5-1 pistons from BMW.

The pistons you fit have to be sized A, B, or C to correspond with which Nikasil cylinders you have and of course they have to have rings for Nikasil.

If you then read the Bing book, you'll note that the carbs are exactly the same save for a one notch higher needle postion for high compression versions.
