Made it home with my new 2002 R1100S machine, 1100 miles for the first test run! 
After the long flight home 
, and the long drive north, we picked her up and headed for Bob's BMW in Jessup. Started the adventure Saturday afternoon heading for home in the rain, fog, wind (lots of wind), cold (temps were in the 80's that turned into the 40's), and with my girfriend on the back (never riden on a bike before) we made it across the Skyline Ridge in what can only be called a "misserable" ride 
, but the new ride performed like a dream. After a couple days in Gatlinberg the girlfreind drove home in a rental car and I played all along the way (well, at the BMW shops along the way). 40+ MPG and one heck of a ride rush made the bad parts of the trip fade away 
, and having a little fun until it's time to head back to work 
. And yes, she has gotten back on for the local rides, but I'll be riding solo on long trips......God Bless our military, and God Bless the USA
