Tank bag attachement (71607680838) for R1200 ST?

I purchased a tank bag for my ST out of Latvia a few weeks ago. When I ordered, the photo showed the bag and attachment straps, so I assumed they were included. I received the non-returnable bag with not straps.

I've looked everywhere I can think of the the attachment straps (BMW part # 71607680838) but come up with nothing other than "no longer available."

Does anyone know where a set of these elusive straps might be found, or did I buy myself nothing more than an awkward purse for $200? Worst case scenario is that I try to make some kind of mounting system... seems like more trouble than it's worth?

Buyer beware!

Thanks!

Those plastic clips are available at REI Outdoors...many styles to choose from. The straps could be sewn by a local person who does that kind of work...maybe an upholsterer.

Thanks 20774... I'll look into the availability of clips. There are a couple of hook shaped plastic connectors... seems that they're meant to attach to the bar that holds the front of the seat in place. That's looking like it may be a tough one. I just thought of something similar... i.e. hooks that hold the bottom straps on a Solo backpack sprayer! I'll investigate that ... perhaps too hopeful? I never thought of contacting RKA DrNeo... she does make custom bags, perhaps she has done an ST tank bag, eh?

Thanks to you both for these suggestions!

It's always somethin', eh?

Take care!
