ROLLS-ROYCE PHANTOM COUP?ë TAKES POLE POSITION AT GOODWOOD MOTOR CIRCUIT
ÔÇó 26.03.2009
ÔÇó Press Release
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has loaned the Goodwood Motor Circuit a Phantom Coup?® for use as the official course car at this yearÔÇÖs Festival of Speed. The car will additionally be used by the Track Stewards Team to lead parade laps and other circuit duties at Goodwood.

499367262_DpJfB-M.jpg

The Phantom Coup?® is finished in Darkest Tungsten with 21 inch forged alloy wheels. The interior features Smoke Grey Mono leather and Rosewood veneer and is complemented by a Starlight Headliner. The car has been fitted with special LED warning lights to allow it to be used as a course car.

ÔÇ£The Phantom Coup?® is the most driver orientated car in the Phantom range and was therefore the natural choice for the Goodwood Motor Circuit,ÔÇØ said Tom Purves, Chief Executive Officer. ÔÇ£The loan is a natural extension of the association between Rolls-Royce Motor Cars and the Goodwood Estate.ÔÇØ

Phantom Coup?® is the fourth Phantom model since the launch of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars in 2003, following Phantom, Phantom Extended Wheelbase and Phantom Drophead Coup?®. Production began at Goodwood in July 2008. The model includes tuned suspension and modifications to gearbox, steering and brake settings.

ÔÇó Press Release
ROLLS-ROYCE PHANTOM FOR CHICHESTER COLLEGE

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has loaned a Phantom to the Motor Vehicle and Engineering
department at Chichester College. The car will be used by Rolls-Royce apprentices studying for NVQ and City & Guilds qualifications.

499366981_6GjRA-M.jpg

Ten Rolls-Royce assembly apprentices currently attend Chichester College for a day each week during their course. Whilst at college they focus on parts fitting and diagnostics for all aspects of the vehicle, in preparation for working alongside employees at the Goodwood-based manufacturing plant. The loan Phantom will allow apprentices to develop the specific practical skills they need to work on the models built by Rolls-Royce.

ÔÇ£It is a great pleasure to provide a Phantom to Chichester College,ÔÇØ said Xaver Franz, Manufacturing Director, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. ÔÇ£We have a long-standing association with the college and our apprentices will benefit greatly from dedicated hands-on experience with one of our cars.ÔÇØ

Dr Richard Parker, Principal of Chichester College, said ÔÇ£We are committed to ensuring that all our apprentices are fully prepared at the end of their apprenticeship to make a significant contribution to the success of their employerÔÇÖs business. The very kind loan of a Phantom will be an enormous help in preparing apprentices for their careers at Rolls-Royce.ÔÇØ

The Rolls-Royce Apprenticeship Programme was successfully launched in 2006 and has received applications from around the world. The programme provides people aged 16-19 with the opportunity to train with the Goodwood-based manufacturer of the worldÔÇÖs best-selling super-luxury cars.

The apprenticeships last for up to four years and combine on-the-job training with studying for nationally recognised qualifications. The programme has been designed in conjunction with Chichester College, the Learning Skills Council (LSC) and South East Economic Development Agency (SEEDA). The Rolls-Royce Apprenticeship Programme currently supports 35 apprentices.

ROLLS-ROYCE MOTOR CARS CONFIRMS FURTHER DETAILS FOR RR4
ÔÇó 23.03.2009
ÔÇó Press Release
- New 6.6 litre turbo charged V12 engine unique to Rolls-Royce
- New 8-speed gearbox
- Engine power upwards of 500bhp (upwards of 373kW/507PS)

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has confirmed further details about the production version of 200EX, the experimental car shown at the Geneva motor show early in March 2009.

476992427_LLdzD-M.jpg

Rolls-Royce CEO, Tom Purves announced the details at a press conference in New York where 200EX is currently being shown to potential customers on the first leg of a world tour.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Purves said, ÔÇ£There has been a great deal of interest in this car since we first talked about producing a new model series in the autumn of 2006 and the reaction 200EX received at its unveiling at Geneva was very positive. As we move another step closer to the start of production at Goodwood, it is exciting to be able to share some of the specific technical details with customers and the media.ÔÇØ

He continued, ÔÇ£RR4 will deliver an authentic Rolls-Royce experience to owners, so expect peerless comfort and build quality. However, we have consciously engineered this car to be more involving and dynamic for those owners around the world that will wish to drive it themselves.ÔÇØ

RR4 will be powered by a brand new 6.6 litre turbo charged V12 engine unique to Rolls-Royce. The engine will be combined with an 8-speed automatic ZF gearbox. This new drive-train will significantly improve fuel and CO2 efficiency over the already class leading Phantom series of cars. Engine power will be upwards of 500bhp.

Bikers Inside the Beltway Date Confirmed

The Motorcycle Riders Foundation is pleased to announce that the
Sergeant-at-Arms of the United States House of Representatives has
approved our request to hold an event inside the Capitol complex. The
event is planned for the morning and early afternoon of Thursday, May
14th, 2009. By all means, save that date on your calendars and plan to be
in Washington, DC.

Bikers Inside the Beltway will take place to educate members of Congress
on the importance of motorcycle safety and awareness programs. The MRF
will also take the opportunity to reaffirm its position that "2010 funds"
(funds appropriated by Congress to support motorcycle rider education and
awareness) have had a positive impact and should be preserved.

The MRF has secured limited parking space on the grounds of the U.S.
Capitol. If you are sincerely interested in riding your motorcycle into
the grounds please email Jeff@mrf.org or call 202-546-0983 to join the
list for admittance. Due to space and security concerns by the
administration of the House of Representatives, we may be forced to limit
the number of motorcycles that we can bring onto the grounds. So please
let us know as soon as possible.

Of course, there is no limit on the number of people who can attend. The
MRF is still working with House officials and will present more details
shortly.
