BMW Motorrad Days USA - October 6-8 @ Barber

It was a hoot! I was standing right there when BMW gave away the parade lap passes at the BMW area Saturday morning. We got to make two laps instead of the one i thought we were going to do. Guy asked me three questions, Are you over 21? Definitely. Do you have a helmet? Sure. Are you on a BMW???? I may not have looked like a typical BMW rider but yes. Here's your ticket, have fun. I thought a "parade lap" meant you followed the leader around the track at a slow speed. Nope. Some of us, um wait.........most of us hauled ass.

:ha

I went on one of those at Laguna Seca one time. We're all in a holding pen at Turn 4 with the CHP getting ready to escort us out. I'm on my R11S, expecting it to be a parade. Nope. The CHP just launched out of there at warp speed and so did everyone else.

It was AWESOME! Coming over the Corkscrew the first time in my life was like riding off a building or something. :clap:clap

Hell I was in the first group on Saturday night, we did five or six laps. I hit a buck 20 down the back stretch. It was great until the guy crashed in group 2. I think they slowed it a bit after that.

Great post and great photographs… I don’t know how I missed other than, you know, there were 90,000 people there. I do know that when we got that short spat of rain I was pulling shuttle duty down by the museum Friday morning. All is good, it looks like you two had a great time.
