Dave Maly - Wisconsin rider passes

Sue

Friend of the Marque
For those old timers out there ... Dave Maly [Madison, WI] passed away today. He was well known in Wisconsin for his friendly smile and outgoing disposition. He was riding his R100RS and/or his K100-taxicab yellow sidecar rig right up until they found him in his driveway this afternoon.

He will be missed.

Dave was one of those folks who was always glad to see you. And that was everybody he met. Sympathies to his family.

David P. Maly, age 68, of Madison, Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2011.

Dave rode BMW motorcycles since the 1960s, was a member of BMW MOA, and was a charter member of the Madison BMW Club, founded in 1968, BMW MOA chapter #7.

Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, Wisconsin, at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 29, 2011, and also from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday.

The photo below, taken of the Madison BMW Club in 1968, is not very clear. But I think Dave is the rider on the far right.
