Post a Photo of your K-bike

Second K in stable

The first is a 95 K75/3. Got it in mint condition with about 21 K on the clock. This one is an 03 with 27 K on the clock. Took it out for ride and it is an evil machine - it really makes the hair blow back.

My 1992 K75S

Here's my new-to-me (almost two months now!) '92 K75S. Here's what I know about her. Non-ABS bike. Almost 32,000 miles. I'm the 3rd owner. Local bike, bought at Ride West by a local bicycle shop owner. He traded it in and my buddy bought the bike, again from Ride West. I bought it from him for $2500, including a Shoei TZ-1 helmet. Non-stock equipment included is a Staintune muffler, a Progressive Suspension adjustable shock, and a thrashed Corbin seat.

I had my buddy ride the bike to Mick Vallentine at Vallentine's Motor Works here in Seattle to have the fairing re-installed as the previous owner had the wiring harness replaced, and he thought he'd save a few bucks by reinstalling the fairing himself. He never got around to bolting it back together, so I had the wrench to it for us. Mick also performed a Level 1 service, and installed heated grips and PIAA driving lights - all before I even took possession of the bike. That was a $1100 bill.

I replaced the old Corbin seat with a new one, including the BMW "Motorsport" emblem and red piping to match the bike. I replaced after-market short rectangular mirrors with the stock mirrors. I replaced the stock windscreen with an Aeroflow model. I replaced the side stand, and I've replaced a few other miscellaneous broken or missing pieces. I've ordered "Bar Backs" to reposition the handlebars back and up 1 1/2", and I've ordered my personalized license plate "MTRRAD" from the Department of Licensing.

More photos are available here:

I'll update photos once I've added these two final pieces. I think once I do these two things, I'll be done pouring money into her for a while. Well, at least I'll be done with PLANNED expenditures. I'm not about to make any promises about uptime!

She's my daily commuter, about 20 miles each way. I've ridden in all weather except snow, and I'm really having fun getting to know her better with each ride.

I'm hooked!

My k75s

Very nice. I was wanting to see what that Corbin seat model looked liked, as I need to do something about my current seat.

I got my k75s replacement bars from
http://www.helibars.com/
rather than bar backs. Heli does not list them on their website anymore for the k75s, but maybe a call could confirm whether they still have some laying around.

You've got a beautiful bike there - I really like what you've done to it. I've been thinking of getting a Corbin. How is it comfortwise?

Until yesterday, I'd never spent much longer than an hour in the saddle. Yesterday I got to take her out for our first joy-ride together. I was out for 2 1/2 hours and I was perfectly comfortable the whole time. I suppose it isn't a great seat if you carry passengers, but no one in my house wants to go ride with me so it's no big deal. I think driver comfort every time is more important than passenger comfort once every 5000 trips, so if I should ever ride two up, they'll just have to deal :fight

Here's a close-up of the seat...

K1 Bumblebee

A sweet ride I just purchased.
Flew from Toronto to Los Angeles and did the tourist thang fer two days around La and Hollywood, then packed up my back pack and headed home to the tune of 9 days and 3378 miles (5405 kms) giddyup
The pic was taken about 6 miles East of El Paso (72 degrees) on I-10 I had just backtracked 300 miles from Albuquerque; a day later the freezing rain and snow showed up between Flagstaff and Amaraillo! Trip was from Dec 15, 2006 to Dec 24, 2006
Health and safe riding to all. The way is the goal.
BMW MOA # 128859

Here is a shot of mine. Had it for 14 years next month.

Latest acquisition

Just hit the jackpot - found on IBMWR list. 1988 K100RS SE ABS - 13,900 miles in darn near perfect condition. Everything you could do to this bike has been done. Head ported and polished, Staintune exhaust, Kosman widened rim (now wears a 160/60/ZR18), upgraded rotors with caliper mounting brackets, hard-wired radar detector, the list goes on. This is definitely one to keep!

K100 Rs

Wow- that is nice. It's always a lot of fun to discover these little gems out there still. Is that the original paint scheme? :thumb

Fantastic find: K100RS

That is one stunning bike!! I've always had an appreciation for the blue/white pant scheme like that and the lines of a K100RS are classic IMHO. To find such a clean bike with so many good things done to it was a true stroke of luck! Congratulations! :thumb :thumb

Got to love the "long legs" of the K1200RS. 890 miles in one day! Had I known about the Iron Butt 1K, I could have easily done the difference ....

You can still do it. I did a SaddleSore 1000 on my K12000RS and had a blast. However, it's a black one and those are the fastest. :stick
