Help with Southern Coastal Route

Hello Fellow Riders - My friend Jeff and I will be riding our RTs out of Denver the last week of October to do a "Southern Coastal Ride". I've asked for advice on the Texas leg from the Mountain/Prairie forum but now need help with the remaining coastal ride starting from Corpus Christi and going East all the way to Florida. We're not too interested in doing Interstate and would even be willing to occasionally put our bikes on a ferry if needed to best enjoy the experience. We have almost two weeks not counting Texas so good riding trumps getting there fast. So... any ideas on how to best ride the Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida coasts? I look forward to your responses. Thanks, Steve

two places in Florida i can recommend are Gulf Islands National Seashore and St. Georges Island.

other than that, just keep that water in view on the right and you should do fine. :ha

Hwy 98 across the Florida Panhandle

During October Hwy 98 from Pensacola though Carabelle is a nice ride (too much traffic during the summer months).

I'll second the advice on St. George Island. And if you do take the bridge over to the island plan a stop at the Blue Parrot Cafe for seafood, beer and lots of other choices on the menu.
