While I don't know how thirty years has come and gone, this film has really stood up to the years. Hopefully you have seen it, if not- it's a great film and is sure to bring back memories. One thing about watching a thirty year old film again is seeing the actors and realizing this might have been their start. Look for Morrie from Goodfellas :)

I met Gordie, his wife, and his two boys when I was 14, at our caddie banquet 42 years ago. He was a great role model for a lot of kids growing up in the Detroit area in the 60's.
