Northern Lights are amazing this week!

My son inlaw shot this photo near his home in Wasilla Alaska two nights ago.
He is a pilot, photographer and moto rider, he spent the night (Marmot tent 12 below temp.) in his tent twenty miles north of home to shoot photos of the lights.
May have to make a trek north this summer to visit the kids.

Streaks of red and huge moving curtains.

Much more interesting than the golden-yellow glow of the sodium vapor lights at the Truck Stop............:)

My compliments on the picture, nicely done with the light in the tent.
 
Heard some chatter about a solar storm that will bring the lights into view lower in the states this weekend.

Never seen them, but that picture sure is cool.:thumb
