Post a picture of your Oilhead

Most of the time it's no big deal, but sometimes...

Crossing from Anacortes to Orcas Island one night, they only loaded the back half of the ferry to keep the bow higher. Normally you're allowed to stay in your car during passage, but This night we all had to ride in the main cabin. No motorcycles on board for this trip, every vehicle on board got a salt water bath. Sort of amazing to watch waves crashing over the bow and washing down the car deck and off the stern. Very glad when we docked...

Had a lake crossing on a [passenger] ferry like that once.....sitting at the back of the cabin, I could see the boat twisting. watched side windows pop out !

Turns out the pilot was the son-in-law of my motel owner , he told his family he issued a may-day, but just at that time we went behind a jetty, and the waters calmed considerably . I was glad to be back on terrafirma.

I just leave the bike in gear so it won't roll, use the sidestand. When the water's rough the deckhands begin parking back from the bow, to avoid salt water spray . . . I've never been on the ferry when it's so rough the bikes might topple to the side. The Sound usually doesn't have waves that big. Admiralty Inlet, between Coupeville and Whidbey, could be an exception though, when the tide's running and the wind's up.
:jawdrop

Has anyone been on the ferry from Hirtshalts Denmark and Kristianson Norway? Or on the ferries up the coast of Norway?

Life's too short to sit inside drinking beer all the time, especially when the rains let up for a few hours.

Today in Port Townsend; Wilson Point Light.

Life got in the way for a couple of weeks after the S picture barrage.

Got out- n -about for a bit today to charge the battery. No ferry rides to show for it.

One of these days I'll figure out editing and lose those pesky phone lines in shots of this place.
