Bell Iroquois "Huey"

Discovered this nicely-restored UH model of a Bell Iroquois Vietnam era helicopter in Washburn, IL in my wanderings in central IL. It's parked outside the local VFW hall. I'll never forget the sound and smell of the big turbine these beautiful choppers made when they start up and the loud, low pitch BUMP-BUMP-BUMP-BUMP they made if they were flying straight toward you. In Chu Lai during 1969 there were lots of 'em!

6 miles on a BMW , "Is that legal?" :scratch :scratch

You must have tremendous will power to stay off her!!!

Nice bike but the poor thing must be lonely!:violin

Mike

It's killing me not to ride it, but I bought her to sell, that is what I do. So I'll have to tough it out. I'll just keep ridin my R1100R L

Red Ryder.

I love the oilheads and ride mine mucho. Still cannot do without the airheads though. I've owned two K bikes and enjoyed them as well, but my greatest affection is reserved for the older R bikes. Wonder why?

Love your post. I may have an R1200RT but my R80RT still holds a special place in my heart and in my garage.

Nice bike you have there. Enjoy riding it or looking at it.
