Nice! I would love an RT-P. They might get ridden hard, but they are totally up on service work. Big alternators, and I love the back storage area.

I love my Lil BMW....

'95 R1100R, 67K I have others, but everytime I ride this Little bike, I smile.
Its never failed me. A new battery every 5 years and regular oil changes.

my '04 RT in full living black and white

the day I picked up my new RT in August 2004, I took some pics.

To date I have 33k miles and have not had a single issue with the bike, unless you count a fuel gauge not showing 100% full. I fixed that by cleaning the main connector.

Some worthy upgrades include a Cal-Sci windshield, Airhawk, Seat Jacks and a RCU shelf for the radar detector.

Just finished a 5k mile trip out west. Averaged about 50mpg, didn't use a drop of oil and kept a smile on my face the whole time. This one's a keeper.

thanks, RPG

OK, my turn!

Howdy all. After fitting a new fuel pump, I decided a good ride was in order. Rode near some beach towns between Seaside Heights and Bayville. Got alot of waves from the Harley riders, and even a car load of kids honked and waved/thumbs up. In the town of Seaside Heights, I stopped to let the beachgoers cross the street, and a couple guys pointed and gawked at "those two things" sticking out the sides of the bike. I let the boxer BARK a bit when I took off.:thumb Gotta love summer!

BBS Wheels!

Got into a set of BBS wheels sooo Goodbye to spokes...
While I do like the look of spokes...
And the fact they're tubeless tires on the C...

I hate cleaning them!

So, here is the Gray Ghost at my work parking lot on their maiden voyage!

Suh~Weeeet! :thumb

My 2000 R1100R at Kelsey Bay, two-thirds the way up beautiful Vancouver Island.

Used to ride a great lump of lead known as a Yamaha Venture. In comparison my Oilhead is a thing of beauty and a joy to ride.

2000 R1200C "The Cruiser"

Bought this bike 4 years ago from the original owner. It was almost 5 years old when I bought it and had only 1,500 miles on it. The guy never rode it, even though he put all they options on it and set it up for long rides. I have ridden it to Sturgis the past 3 years and I just rode it from Denver to Gillette, WY for the 36th International BMW Motorcycle Rally, then to Spearfish, SD for a buddy's family reunion and then home to Denver! It now has over 12K and climbing. It is meant to be ridden and I will help out with that!

"Meant to be ridden . . . "

Richard, that is a pretty common theme, it seems. When the R1200C was introduced it attracted a lot of buyers because of the James Bond movie, and also because a significant number of Boomers decided to start riding or start riding again, and they wanted a cruiser, and BMW offered something unique. Lots of these bikes did not get ridden much, and many of us have benefited by being able to buy low-mileage C's at greatly depreciated prices.

I see that you registered on Chromeheads a couple of months ago. Welcome! I hope you are taking advantage of the wealth of technical knowledge and aftermarket information available there. Not to mention all the awesome pictures.

(this one not in the awesome category . . . )

The most familiar view of my 2004 R1150RT this summer, 3rd time dead on the side of the road, fuel pump this time... At least I got the leaky FD seal fixed so I didn't stain this guy's trailer... Oh, and the FD Big Bearing last summer...

And.. I did get to find out how great your friends can be... Thanks Al, Bob, Clint, Eve, Mike, Rox, Sean, and Steve... and Trailer Guy!

:bikes <- except the blush is going off this one!
