Post a Photo of your K-bike

Holy cow! I don't need one that badly---I think my cable tie will do for now.

Thanks for the info at any rate; now back to the thread at hand...

I don't remember the ebay sellers name, But every once in a while he lists a few, and they were only about $22

I looked him up last night, but he doesn't have anything fpr sale at this time. His screen name is STANGARK, I added him to my favorites so if he reappears I'll let everyone know. Also with shipping I paid $27 for the one I bought.

Thanks for posting his username along with the nice clear photo; for $27 out the door I might want one next time he has some (but I'll need to get a flat key cut beforehand as I only have one of the folding type keys).

Hello everyone... STANGARK has listed more Key Holders for sale on E-Bay. I just ordered another one. $45.95 shipped. These are very nice...

The ones STANGARK has now look a bit different than the one pictured above---but they do appear first rate---quite spiffy(CNCmachined aluminum billet)! Still, at $36 + $11 shipping from Canada seems a bit dear.... I'll keep tabs on the seller and perhaps when I get a few bills paid off I'll reconsider.

Any rate, this will be my last post on the slightly off-topic subject here in the K-bike photo thread; my apologies in advance for the diversion and perhaps someone else would now like to post a photo of his/her K-bike.

I guess I have lurked long enough.

Bookends.

Love 'em both.

l've always admired the flying bricks - the original mid 80's brick was my first love for street bikes, being a Ca. dirt bike rider in Apple Valley in the late 70's and early 80's as a kid l saw a few BMW bricks on the way to our cabin on the 10 & 15 freeways. l was so smitten by them l said 1 day l would own a BMW. Now l do but it's an 1150RT & l just love the nature of the oilhead twin.

How big is the difference from the 1st generation K bikes to the 04? Is the 04 still considered 1st gen? l took a test ride on a 2010 1200RT and about pooped my pants at the diff from that to my 051150RT, one of the last ones made before the switch over. Is the difference that noticeable in the flying brick range between certain years?

l often use the analogy of Digital to Analog for my 051150 to the 2010 1200. The new bike is telepathic whereas my 1150 feels like a 1970's Harley by comparison.

l'd like to someday own 1 of the flying bricks. Any thoughts you have on this would be appreciated.

Cheers

Beings that I put all of that time, energy, effort, and money into my Hi Viz Machine.... the bike deserved Vanity Tags!

Match the color with the 3M Solas tape... nobody will be creeping up on me!

You know they make glow-in-the-dark condoms too don't you?

I think you definitely should!

The bikes themselves can be had for pretty cheap these days. Any one that you get will likely need a bit of sprucing up. Maint can be a little pricey, but it is a BMW - what do you expect? Parts are readily available and if you are comfy with a wrench they are very self serviceable. Once you get it up to par, it will last forever. The engines themselves just don't die.

mffer

I have a motorcycle , why would I need those???

lol! Touche! l get ya but you need to see the pics of the guy's bike l'm poking in the ribs. It's all hi viz glow in the dark. Just reminded me of those day glow condoms.

l wonder if he thought of that before going hog wild with ay glow green?:doh

My smoothest ride

I have a air-head, an oil-head and this K bike and it is the smoothest of them all. Here is a rear view and I'll post a side view also.

they're sold as "document storage containers" ($15-20) at local farm stores. most commonly used on bikes as tool storage tubes.
kind of curious myself as to what his intended usage is, other than to make a cool looking "tail-light" or MV Agusata looking "exhaust".
