22l top case

Has anyone tried mounting the 22L top case that was available for the early "K" bike on their RT? I'm not a fan of the large top cases Tried a search & wasn't able to find any info.
Thanks

Hey LC, are you saying that you would like a 29L top case for your 12RT?
It is the way to go....
Those mounting plates on the luggage rack are very specific.
LMK,
Jim

I was hoping that someone had mounted one successfully on their RT. If so I would start looking for a 22L case to mount on my bike

The mounting system isn't the same as it was in the 1980s or 1990s so you'll be designing and fabricating an adapter or adaptation of sorts. I really doubt anyone has done this.

You'd be better off IMHO with the smaller box (28) actually designed for your bike.

I agree with Kent. To mount the 22l box you will need the plate it mounts on, and then you will need to custom fabricate mounts to hold the plate or the little rack in place on your specific bike. I had a rack, plate and box just stored so did it on my F650 with two narrow pieces of steel bar stock. Not elegant but it worked. You can do the same with any bike provided you can find points on the bike with enough strength to hold whatever your topbox load is.

Well heck. Sounds like it's going to be more trouble than it's worthy. Might look at mounting a small pelican box or something similar.
Thanks for the help though
