    Got lucky w the clock........

I bought a new to me r1150r. The owner told me the clock never has worked for him. So for the past couple I looked up what it would cost for a replacement clock. New was around $250, BMW boneyard $85, but they didn't have any in stock. So last night I attempted to plug in the bike and the accessory out let did not work. Checked the manual and the clock and outlet are on the same fuse. Yup, fuse was burnt out, replaced fuse, clock and out let work......wooooohooo

Good for you John. Wonder how long the former owner cursed the clock?

Why you take what people tell you not to be the whole story. He told me when he got it, it never worked. So thought it was the clock itself. I should have double checked the fuses, but I thought, big mistake, he done that. Anyhow just tickled it was the fuse and wanted to share my story.... So check your fuses first.....

To add to the KISS method of figuring out what is wrong when things don't work, I'm in a mine in Nunavut right now and my girlfriend e-mailed that her brand new, newly purchased lawn mower won't start. I asked he if she had gas in it. WRONG QUESTION. I should have phrased it anyway but that way because, it was out of gas and now she is mad at me for making her feel dumb.

So you bought a bike in good faith which had a destroyed fuse.
I'd be after the seller for some money back.

    But seriously, well done you!

    Yup, wrong question.
Ask her if it has oil in it, they ship those empty.
