Sargent seat on BMW pan?

oldnslow

It's a way of life!
I have what I believe to be a Sargent seat on my 98 R1100RT,d due to the big label on the side that says Sargent, but the plastic pan is full of BMW part numbers. Do they build their seats on BMW pans?

Most of the seats are built on their own pans, but you can send your BMW pan to them and have the new seat built on it.
Using your own pan will save you money.

Early R1100RT seats made by Sargent were all made on BMW pans. You sent your old seat in or purchased a seat from them with a core charge.

It wasn't until later that made their own seat pan which included the "storage tube" that attached to the bottom of the seat.
