No recall has been issued at this time for the US by the NHTSA and BMW or any other markets I follow.

Paul is correct. This is a new recall by Transport Canada and BMW on a new issue.

OK. Different title might help distinguish them.

I use the title that Transport Canada uses in it's system; write and suggest that to them. A system like NHTSA which includes their reference number is helpful with multiple recalls such as this. Either way I use the title either organization gives us to head the thread when I post these.

?? You can't choose your own words to post here?

I'm just saying you might say "Bikes recalled for fuel pump" or something. People might realize it's a new thread rather than the old one.

Feed a man fish and he complains about how its cooked.
Teach him how to fish and he can sort, clean, cook and name them what ever they bloody well want to.

You if you or anyone else wants to follow Transport Canada for recalls and post them here you can name them whatever you want. I am done.

Its pretty easy to ascertain if the thread is new or old. Date and number of views/replies are good indicators. Thanks for your work on these, Mika.

I'm glad mika is posting them otherwise a lot of folks would not be informed. Owners of used bikes don't get informed by the dealers up here in Canada as far as I know. That said a lot of people are very busy and forced to skim titles for items that are of interest or they are experts on so I can see Anton's point.

    Could I suggest:

"Transport Canada and BMW issued a recall on multiple models (side stand)"
    or
"Transport Canada and BMW issued a recall on multiple models (fuel pump)"

Goes a long way to saying what the thread is about.

Look guys I use to do this in what spare spare time I have. I don't have an editor. I am not sanctioned by the MOA or hold any office, I am just a fellow member. If all the things a master mechanic and a local Canadian club leader have to say in the case of a recall is to jammer on about the title I took from the Transport Canada feed I use, read and realized was a new recall, then checked the US, UK and AU sites to see if there were any other recalls on the same item before posting it on the forum fine.

Now you know where to find the Transport Canada feed.

A link to the NHTSA feed can be found here : http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/owners/SearchSafetyIssues

The following do not provide feeds so you will have to do the search yourself when you think there may be a recall

    UK - http://www.vosa.gov.uk/vosa/apps/recalls/default.asp

    EU - http://ec.europa.eu/consumers/safety...nt=main.search

AU (Covers New Zealand also) - http://www.recalls.gov.au/content/in.../itemId/952843

Go fish for recalls all you want. Once you have mastered sorting and searching on all of them you could make the original post I made and name it what ever the ___ you want. My membership expires at the end of May and I am thinking it is time to take the Roadster to a full vegan restaurant.
