'86 K75T Oil Leak

Hello. My '86 K75T just developed a slight oil leak. It's coming from behind the alternator cover then drips down the side of the intermediate housing. Doesn't leak on short trips like my 40 mile daily commute. Only after longer trips. Can anybody provide some advise before I start tearing things apart?

The seal at the alternator drive is seeping. They tend to do that.

Remove the black plastic alternator cover and thoroughly clean the area around the alternator. Put the cover back on. Ride the bike. Repeat after 5,000 or 10,000 miles.

If the leak gets significantly worse the seal replacement requires you remove the battery and tray; remove the alternator; remove the drive flange that drives the alternator; replace the seal. Reinstall in reverse order.

I forget whether there is an O ring at the bolt or not but the seal is just ahead of the drive flange.
