Drivetrain heat

Hi
New to me 1995 R100Rt. I notice that the drive shaft and rear wheel pumpkin get much warmer then on my R75/5. Not to hot to touch but warmer then I'm used too. Bike seems to move and shift just fine with no unusual noises. Just wondering is this typical for the mono shock bikes?
Thanks
Gian4
