Anyone Painted the Stock BMW Plastic Travel Bags/Saddle Bags

My '94 R100RT has the oem saddle bags and they have several banged-up places and scratches.
Has anyone here tried to sand and repaint the cases? Would it easier ($$) to have a auto body
shop do them? Any help appreciated. Thanks in-advance.

Go get the stuff made for plastic at any big box hardware. If they are textured, don't over sand, just take off the high spots, gouges can be filled with epoxy carefully placed, and textured by pressing on it with course sand paper (do not rub), after it sets up some.
