'09 R1200RT- Reason for Sudden Seeping of Brake Fluid at Reservoir Lid (Front)

granged

New member
2009 R1200RT just coming up for 20,000 km service. Annual service performed by dealer at end of 2012 riding season. Finally getting out for spring rides in Ontario and noticed a couple of drips and seeping from the front brake oil reservoir. Brakes working fine and still quarter level showing so far. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Don

Reasoned Out

Was able to walk in to my service provider, pop in a new rubber seal ($23.00) and all is good. It seems that brake fluid and moisture eventually can distort the seal, in this case after three years. Thanks to John and Rob at Budds in Oakville Ontario.

Mine is starting to do that, but no leaks yet. Didn't know if the seal was available separately. Thanks for the heads up.
