1990 K1 project

1990 K1 with 8000 miles been sitting for years last registered in 1997
Brakes are bad
master cylinders bad
fuel pump/screen/filter/gauge bad see picture
spline has no lube at all
fuel lines and injectors replace and rebuild
brake lines look good but not sure
tires look great but I cant find date code and hard as a rock
replace all oils and coolant
steering damper needs new washers or bushings moves all over the plac
all the tupperware cleaned up good with a wash and wax job no cracks anywhere
here are some pictures what do you all think

That yellow freaks me out every time I see one of these.

It's a beautiful bike, though, and should be a very satisfying project.
 
It is a very low mileage K1 and will have quite a value once you are done fixing all the details. Saying anything else is only possible if you share how much you paid.
$5,000 is too much, $7,000 would be totally insane and $2,000 would have been a decent deal what I definitely would have paid.
 
I paid 3000 for it
It came with a new fuel pump/screen/filter all new brake pads/master cylinders/ calipers
spark plugs and oil filter .
just ordered my first lot of parts today $560
and if I get to go to Salem I think I will take my K1200lt

I'm partial to the mustard/ketchup variety, but yours is nice too. Hope your knees aren't as goofy as mine!

I have bad knees and hips and the seat-to-peg position always bothered me on the K1. I bought a footpeg relocation kit for my K1600GT and it was impossible to install but it fit fine on the K1. Helped quite a bit.
