I was inspired by a similar project by a member of the Airheads Beemer Club who created a of scrapbook of hundreds of ads from a variety of sources that pertained to BMW motorcycles. It was very interesting to page through some of these ads from the '60s, '70s, and '80s. Man, did they have the wildest fairing offerings for the Airheads! Everyone thought they had a better mousetrap...or barndoor as the case may be.
So, I decided to extract the ads from the January 1981 Owners News and display them here. You'll get a sense of what was hot at the time, and also see who made it and who didn't. Enjoy!
