    Question 2000 RT horns?

The oem "horns" on my 2000 RT just don't cut it in Chicago traffic.

Whaddaya like as a LOUD replacement? What's an easy or good or effective brand and install, pls?

I always like those dual tone Fiamms on my airheads. Scared the crap outta the cagers. Almost woke up a couple of 'em!
    thanx,

    This is a loud horn.
I've had it on my bike since 2009 and have used it on dogs and Minivans to great effect.
Check the Feb-2010 ON for an interesting installation which allows the original horn to remain in play in case you don't want to put granny into cardiac arrest.

    horny

I'd rather have an air horn. It's easier on the balls!

    Horns

I put the Stebel horns on my 02 R1150R and they are loud. I had to use the Stebel wiring harness because I kept blowing 10 amp fuses.

I wired in an auxillary relay and used the existing wiring on the bike which powered the OEM horns to trigger the relay and give the new STREBELS their new life...........screamin demons !!!

It would be great to find a louder horn that does not require it's own wiring harness and a relay. Unplug stock horn. Plug in louder horn. Done.

Maybe a boat horn is overkill? The stock one is wimpy though for sure.

Yep, that's what I'd be looking for as well.

    Fiamm Car Horns

A pair of Fiamm car horns will work plug and play. I have made the swap on my last bike 1995 R1100RS and my now 2004 R1150GS. If you search Fiamm on eBay you may be asked for big bucks but if you search Volvo or Saab horns, you will pay less and both these manufacturers use Faimm as standard. This will be a pair of horns (high/low).

    Work great.
