I have owned the following BMW's, in order:
K 1100 LT
R 1100 RT
R 1100 GS
R 1100 R
and now another R 1100 RT
My riding buddy asked how it was to ride an RT again and I said "Like coming home".
This latest one I picked up in Louisville last week. A 1999 with 37,XXX miles. Blue (the fastest color). It has a couple of things I'm going to get rid of: highway pegs and a Remus exhaust. Like the Aeroflow windshield. BMW comfort seat that isn't so comfortable and most likely will get another Kontour. Has aux lights (currently not working). Clutch switch was shot so I bypassed it. Neutral light is "iffy". Tires good for the rest of this year (Blitz to Branson, RA at the Builtmore, BMWST UN Rally at Blowing Rock, NC). Added a Big Mak flip up tank bag and GS mirrors. Still need footpeg lowering kit (including shift and brake levers). Have an extra CeeBailey's screen as well as the stock screen. Hyperlight brake light flasher.
My son is razzing me by asking "how many BMW motorcycles can you buy for the same $3,000?" and I said several.
Here is a pic.
Spring is iffy here right now. Last Sunday rode to Cape Girardeau, MO for a RTE with the Shawnee Area Riders Association. Very nice day in the 70's. 43 here right now. Hope it warms up next week for the ride to Branson.
