1988 R100GS--Can I substitute rear subframes from other models/years?

I was looking to make a solo set up for my 1988 R100GS...any chance that rear subframes from an R65 or R80 or R100RS (various years) would be able to be bolted on the GS frame? Been scouring eBay and found a couple subs that seem like they could work. Anyone ever try?
Or should I look in a slightly different direction to build a solo seat for the GS? Hopefully it's a simple answer.
Any help/guidance would be much appreciated :)

I am shooting for something like this sweet ride from Max BMW in NH...

Thanks!

Welcome to the Forum!

Why not just get the solo seat parts for your R100GS? No need for another sub frame. Many R80 G/S owners adapt the R100GS subframe onto the R80 because it is much stronger.
