1985 K100 rear seal replacement

I am preparing to replace the rear seal on a 1985 K100.I just compleated the same job on my k75.Question is,should the new rear seal be installed with the seal flush to the surface like the original or protrude out 1mm like the K75 rear seal that I just replaced?Any suggestions on a non oem clutch disc?

When I changed the seal on my 93 K1100LT I was lead to believe that the seal should be 1mm proud on all of the inline K bikes. I am sure you already know but don't forget to change the clutch nut o-ring. That was the problem child on my bike.

Main seal protrusion

If it is the main seal you should be .5mm protrusion. Check the slop in your shifter shaft while you have the tranny out. Now would be the time to address any shifter slop.

YES!
I'm fixing shifter slop now. For the second time. If lose don't use the the blue Loctite like book says. Use red. I used 271.
