Hello all. I just officially joined MOA today. I've had my 05 R1200RT for two seasons now, looking forwared to season three. I never thought I'd like BMW's until I rode one. I wanted to get away from cruisers, and started looking at sport touring bikes and out of the 6 models of different makes that I rode, the R was my favorite. Though I never did get to ride any K models.
Grew up in Toledo, Ohio, live in Perrysburg now. Looks like the forum has some great technical information. I like doing my own regular maintenance as much as possible. Though, it seems the BMW needs more dealer work then my previous bikes due to electronics, abs, etc..... But I love the bike. I just wish we still had a dealer in my area.

Welcome to the forum! You'll find lots of info here as well as some great folks willing to lend a hand if needed.
