Hi All,

New member here from Ashburn, VA. Been riding for over 35 years but this is my first beemer. In September 2011 I rode the 800 GS on an Edelweiss tour of Southern Spain and Portugal....was the vacation of a lifetime. I felt like a little kid again riding the twisties on this awesome piece of German engineering. Needless to say, the weekend before Thanksgiving I was leaving the dealer on a brand new K1600 GTL :clap Just love this bike and cannot get my duff off the saddle. My other bikes, well....their collecting dust in the garage and will probably be up for sale in the spring.

In any event, I am looking forward to joining and meeting you all on these weekend getaway rides, and perhaps even venture to ride to Salem for the rally if I can find a few to join.

Cheers :beer

Welcome, I hate to burst you bubble, but a K1600GTL is not a F800GS :D

Thanks...You are correct..but it is a beemer ;) ....and a phenominal ride!!! Seriously considering a new F800GS as an addition for some off road riding which I miss very much.:bikes

Welcome aboard. I am trying to get my scheduke free to make it to the Fontana Weekend event. Let me knkw if you are planning on going. I m in southern VA off I85. May be able to meet for the ride to western NC.

Welcome to the Forum. Have fun on that 1600! Great bike. But they really ride funny when you put TKC80's on them. Cornering seems to go away. Don't know why.
