I recently bought an '81 R100RT, true mileage unknown-- probably 50K ish-- from a gentleman in downeast ME. She's sitting on my new harbor Freight lift (no more pretzel contortions working on a bike for me). I have always had bikes and enjoy the wrenching journey as much as riding. So, I'm grateful for the willingness of experienced BMW enthusiasts to guide me as I get familiar with this bike which I hope will be my go-to bike for trips. I'll be retiring soon and the open road calls out to me!
Happy to be onboard!

Glad you made it to the forum! Sounds like you have yourself a good project for when you retire. Drop into the Airhead forum when you have some questions...and post a picture in the picture thread so we can see your ride. Happy wrenchin' and ridin'!

Welcome! Here's wishing you warm weather so you can get her out on the road!

What part of the state are you in?We have a son in Wilmot and one in Epping and spend some time there in the summer after the nasty white stuff goes away.Might see ya then.Ed
