Anyone replaced or removed the lower support arms for the windshield? If you did. How did you get them off?

One of mine snapped in June of 2012. Repair involved a completely new motor and carriage assembly - individual arms deemed by BMW as "not a replaceable part."

Sucked to the tune of $350.

So how did the install go ???

I did this last year when mine broke. Yes, you have to replace the whole mechanism. No, not difficult. You can do yourself. Remove the windscreen. Then follow instructions to remove the nose of the bike. It comes off with 6 bolts. You have to disconnect the headlights mult-plug..no biggie.

When the nose is off, it's pretty easy to see how the mechanism comes out by looking at the new one.

I have the BMW DVD. That is helpful for this fix because it shows all the bolt locations.

Have fun!!!:german
