Forum "freeze up"

My computer always works fine for some time when I click down through a thread. Then suddenly clicking the "down button" gets a delayed response, or no response. If I try a different forum, the response is slow getting there and just as bad as on the previous forum. If I close the internet connection then go back to this forum all is well.

I'm pretty sure this has nothing to do with this forum and everything to do with my computer. Just wondered if anyone understands what is happening and what, if anything, I can do to avoid this minor nuisance. This is an "every day" thing when I am on for a half hour or more (haven't actually timed it,) not a "once in a while" problem.

Try lowering the number of posts displayed per page. (Forum Actions -> General settings -> Thread Display). This helps a lot, especially on threads with lots of links, pics, and videos like the Bench racing thread. Ten per page works well for me with 4gig of RAM.
