K75 Tranny Housing Hole

Hi. While working on my alternator I noticed a hole in the transmission housing right underneath the battery tray. Anybody know it's purpose? Thanks.

If you are talking about the 1/4" hole on top that goes into the area where the swingarm attaches to the rear of the tranny, that is for the battery breather/overflow hose so that any acid overflow goes out the bottom of the bike instead of on top of the tranny. If you no longer have a wet lead acid battery, someone may have removed the hose, but it's usually a good idea to keep the hose there incase you ever have to put a wet battery in there.
