2005, R1200RT - Drain fuel from tank?

I need to drain the fuel from the tank on my '05 R1200RT.

Since I need to remove the tank from the bike so I can perform a brake flush, I figured I go ahead and fix the cracked fuel pump fitting flange on top of the fuel pump.

I purchased the "10ovr, Pump Flange Repair Clamp" and a "Fuel Line Quick
Disconnect Set" from BeemerBoneyard.

My question is...
Can I use the fuel pump on the bike to pump the fuel into a gas can, instead of trying to siphon? Also, can I re-use the existing fuel line, or should I replace that? If so, is there anything special about it or can I buy the fuel line locally?

Many thanks!
