Last year Heidi and I participated in the Big Money Rally 2012. Well, they have decieded to do a 2013 version. While the announcements went out primarily to LD riders, it is not a LD event. It runs for 5 months and you can have alot of fun with this event. The link below is what was posted on the FJR forum announcing the event. Check it out, you will find it interesting and just might want to be a participant.

Bob, went to the link, then the BigMoney website.. and still don't quite understand how this rally works and what is scored.

Some elucidation would be helpful!

The BMR 2013 is currently in a test mode. If you sort throgh the Big Mondey web site, you can see how it is scored, post submitted, ect. To understand how it is scored, click on the bonus listing.

As it is labeled Silly/Test, the bonus listings are only for testing. It is expected the event will begin Jan 1, and bonus photos submitted for scoring will need to include your motorcycle and the BMR Plaquard with your number. There is a link that wll take you to the BMR 2012 and you can see the many posts submitted along with other information.

If entered, you go at your own pace, as the event will run for 5 months. Do not know what the minimum point level is to be a finisher, but last year it was 121 (number of days the event ran).

You will need a camera phone that you can send photos to the web site. There is a drop down link that provides information and alternitives for the type of phone required.

The bonus locations are located border to border, coast to coast. If you review the 2012 BMR, it will provide insight to the locations involved.

Not something for everyone, but something for one who is always asking "where should I ride?" There is more than one answer to that question, this is just one of them, and a pretty good one.
