Get me home from North end of BRP!

Going to do BRP, traveling South to North first week of Oct. Would love suggestions on a return route to Atlanta avoiding slabs at (almost) all costs. Riding my '09 RT right after I get her 18k servicing at Blue Moon Cycles, (plug). I likes me some twisties and scenery.

Please advise. I await your expert opinions!

Do you want to get home quick and easy or take the twisty scenic route? How far north are you going - including Skyline Drive? I'm doing a route in September that takes me from north Georgia through Murphy NC, over through Highlands up through Asheville then over to rt 16 (back of the dragon up through Tazewell), over to the New River Gorge Bridge and from there over to the Snowshoe area (Cass, Green Bank NRAO), then a lot of 219 north to 50 and back to the DC area. That route going south will take you a couple of three days of hard twisty riding on great roads with good limits and low probability of LEO entanglements. Let me know if you want more specific details and I can shoot you some GPS files.

For my time and money, these roads in West Virginia, Western North Carolina, eastern Tenn. and north GA stack up with anywhere even if you never get on the BRP or Skyline.

Haven't heard much exciting about Skyline, only that there is a fee to ride it, and then a 35 mph limit. Not so stimulating.

Maybe the better route would have me doing the twisty stuff you mentioned, and the BRP on the way back South. Would like to end up in Maggie Valley for an owner's gathering on the 5th through the 7th.:bottle
