I want to put a set of PR3's on my 2001 K1200LT. The front tire is no problem, but they don't make the recommended rear tire size of 160/70-ZR17. I was hoping to get some feedback here if one of the sizes listed below is a suitable alternative and why.

150/70ZR17 (69 W)
160/60ZR17 (69 W)
170/60ZR17 (72 W)
180/55ZR17 (73 W)
190/50ZR17 (73 W)
190/55ZR17 (75 W)
160/60ZR18 (70 W)

The rear tire for the LT must be made specific for the LT to clear the swing arm. It must have the reinforced side wall and the correct profile. Your only choices are Metzler ME880, Bridgestone BT020 & Avon Storm

Thanks for the good info Dave. I didn't realize I was so limited in tire selection. I've got an appointment for next weekend to go with new Metzler M880's front and rear. That's what's on the bike now.
